Within Your Gates grantee: Cleanup at Lakeview Ohio

Last weekend on Sunday, March 31st, a group of seven Church of God brethren gathered in Lakeview, Ohio to helped some of the residents with cleanup efforts after the area was hit on the evening March 14th with an F3 tornado. The project was led by Mary Miller – CGN’s Within Your Gates Outreach Coordinator.

From Mary:

We picked up trash for 4 residents in the same neighborhood. The local community and various nonprofits and volunteers from many different groups had already worked together to accomplish a lot, but full recovery will take months, and for some, years.

Several people asked about contributing from a further distance and offered money to share with the community. We donated some items and are donating money to a local diner (Lulu’s on the Lake) which has been feeding those effected by the disaster free of charge since then.
