New Ephesians 4 Grantee: 60th Anniversary of the COG in Maryland!

Few things are as inspiring as seeing the Body of Christ come together in love and fellowship. Recently, a Maryland congregation of the United Church of God hosted a special celebration that was open to all COG groups—one made possible in part by an Ephesians 4 Project grant from Church of God Network. This event marked the 60th anniversary of the Church of God in Maryland, and it was nothing short of a beautiful testament to the power of unity!

With brethren attending from over half a dozen different Church of God groups, the gathering was a powerful reminder that, despite our organizational differences, we are all part of one Body, one Spirit, and one calling (Ephesians 4:4). The event was filled with warmth and reconnections—bringing together 150 brethren to celebrate not just the congregation’s history, but the enduring relationships and faith we all share. It was especially meaningful to see and honor some of the original members from the early days of the Baltimore congregation, bridging the past with the present.

What made this gathering even more special was the diversity of generations represented. Young and old alike came together—sharing stories, laughter, and encouragement. It wasn’t just about remembering history; it was about strengthening the bonds of fellowship for the future. And perhaps most impressively, every single attendee participated in both the Sabbath service and the dinner afterward—a beautiful reflection of their commitment to worship, fellowship, and togetherness.

This is exactly what Church of God Network’s mission is all about—building connections, fostering unity, and creating opportunities for the Body of Christ to come together in meaningful ways. Events like this remind us that, while we may belong to different fellowships, we are ultimately part of the same spiritual family. And when we come together in love, honoring our shared faith, we move forward in the mission Christ has given us—to be one, just as He and the Father are one (John 17:21).
