Within Your Gates: Myanmar Brethren Update

We wanted to share an important prayer update about our brethren in Myanmar and to ask the whole community to join us in prayer for the situation. Recent reports coming out of the region remain difficult, and we are doing everything we can to stay informed and look into whether there are ways we can provide meaningful support as the situation develops.

From the latest information we’ve received, a group of about 15 of our Chin brethren—mostly elderly men, women, and children—have managed to reach the city of Kalaymyo. They survived, but they have lost all their belongings. Many of the younger men are still in hiding due to the escalating conflict and conscription pressures in Chin State. Kalaymyo has effectively become a refuge for displaced families, especially those who are not of conscription age.

At this time, it appears that their most pressing needs are basic food supplies and day-to-day necessities. Communication remains extremely limited, as the military continues to restrict and monitor all channels. Updates only come through when a brief connection becomes available, making consistent contact very challenging.

Even so, we’re hopeful that more communication will open up so we can better understand their needs and explore how the Church community can respond in a tangible way. For now, the most immediate and impactful action we can all take is to pray fervently—for their safety, their comfort, and for God’s intervention in their circumstances.

They are deeply encouraged knowing that brethren around the world are praying for them and that Church leadership continues to be mindful of their needs. Let’s keep them close in our hearts and continue asking God to protect and sustain them during this incredibly difficult time.
