Welcoming Our Newest Grantee: John Mensah

We’re excited to announce and congratulate John Mensah of Ghana as the newest recipient of a COG Development Grant!

John is a trained electrician with a vision for how he can use his skills to serve his local community. With the support of this grant, John plans to establish a small electrical supply and service shop, where he will provide reliable electrical work while also selling electrical tools and materials to customers in the area. By combining skilled workmanship with honest service, he hopes to become a trusted resource in his community.

During the first year, he plans to focus on building a strong local reputation and developing a steady base of customers. In year two, he hopes to hire an apprentice and expand his services to include emerging technologies such as smart home systems and solar installations. By year three, John plans to register as a certified contractor and begin pursuing larger commercial projects. Looking further ahead, his goal over the next four to five years is to open a small office and expand his service area to reach additional communities.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to support dedicated brethren like John who are working hard to build sustainable livelihoods and strengthen their communities.
