Ephesians 4 Project Update: 4th Annual “In Him” Men’s Retreat check-in
In June 2024, Church of God Network was honored to award an Ephesians 4 Project grant to Dusti Howell and Johnny Snyder in support of the 4th annual “In Him” Men’s Retreat—a great example of fostering unity and fellowship among men from across the Church of God community. This year’s retreat took place in February 2025 at the beautiful Shepherd of the Ozarks (SOTO) in Arkansas and welcomed participants from a wide range of Church of God groups.
The new setting at SOTO, paired with the extended Presidents Day weekend, proved to be a blessing. Nineteen men from eleven different states—some fathers bringing their sons—gathered together to strengthen bonds that transcend organizational lines. The weekend began with a warm welcome and a shared steak dinner Friday evening, setting the tone for connection and brotherhood.
Throughout the retreat, the men were invited to reflect deeply on the spiritual “log jams” that may be hindering our ability to bear much fruit for God. Following the biblical example, lots were drawn to form teams, assign scriptures, and spark thought-provoking discussions. Each team prayerfully prepared and delivered interactive presentations that inspired meaningful conversations and lasting connections.
The Sabbath was a special time of rejoicing, with Karl Wilson leading the group in joyful worship before the Lord. For those seeking adventure, the high ropes course and cliffhanger activities became powerful moments of challenge and encouragement—pushing past fears and cheering one another on.
On Sunday night, the men gathered into mini-groups to share personal prayers and requests for anointing. It was a moment of vulnerability, support, and unity—each man committing to continue praying for his group throughout the year, asking God to bless each other with a truly fruitful year ahead.
The weekend was a moving testament to what happens when brothers in Christ come together—not just to learn and worship, but to truly connect. We are excited to announce that the “In Him” Men’s Retreat will return to Shepherd of the Ozarks on February 13-16, 2026. We pray that even more men will join us for another incredible weekend of worship, reflection, and building bonds within the Body of Christ. We hope to see you there!
