A Beautiful Display of Unity in Austin, Texas

Last Day of Unleavened Bread Celebration with Brethren from Across the Church of God

Church of God Network was blessed to spend the Last Day of Unleavened Bread with an incredible group of brethren in Austin, Texas—and what a powerful and uplifting weekend it was! Hosted by the warm and generous members of the South Texas Church of God, this event was a shining example of the beauty and strength that comes when God’s people dwell together in unity.

As Psalm 133:1 proclaims, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” That spirit was on full display as brethren from at least six different Church of God organizations came together, not only to observe this Holy Day, but to encourage, uplift, and build one another up in love.

The weekend was filled with heartfelt spiritual fellowship and abundant hospitality. Brethren provided delicious meals each day, and the conversations that flowed over those shared meals were filled with joy, laughter, and a deep sense of spiritual connection. It was a true reflection of the early Church described in Acts 2:46, where the disciples “continued daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart.”

Church of God Network Board Member Daniel Russo was invited to speak about the mission and programs of CGN, sharing how we are working to support connection, collaboration, and service among the various fellowships of God’s people. The message resonated deeply in an environment already brimming with unity and cooperation.

But perhaps the most moving moment of the weekend came on the Last Day of Unleavened Bread itself, when a new brother in Christ was baptized—a powerful reminder of the ongoing work God is doing in calling and transforming lives. Heaven rejoices with us (Luke 15:10), and we give thanks for the opportunity to witness such a profound step in faith.

Events like these are a testament to what can happen when we focus on what unites us: our shared faith, our commitment to God’s truth, and our love for one another. We were reminded that though we may come from different fellowships, “we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another” (Romans 12:5).

Let’s continue to celebrate and foster these moments of togetherness, always seeking to “keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3).

To all who made the weekend so special—thank you. We are inspired and encouraged, and we look forward to seeing what God has in store as we continue to walk this path together.
